 I possess eighteen years of progressive experience in the Journalism
and Public Affairs fields.
My
professional history includes the positions: Communications Supervisor for
Harris County Public Health, Communications Specialist for Harris County
Precinct 4, Journalist/Photographer for the St. Mary and Franklin
Banner-Tribune, Journalist for the Fayetteville Observer, as well as Public
Affairs Specialist/Print Journalist for the US Army— honorably discharged as a
non-commissioned officer.
 

  As a communications supervisor, I managed a team
of 9 communication specialists and designers, logged and submitted payroll
details, edited all publishable assets and deliverables, supported and
implemented all internal and external initiatives, assigned and supervised
projects from project management system, conducted weekly and bi-weekly
meetings with team members, both 1:1 and collectively, and assisted with
campaigns, from authoring communications plans to serving as Communications
Liaison at events.
 

As a communications specialist, I edited press releases and
monthly calendars and updates, as well as provided copy and photos for Precinct
4 magazines — published quarterly and monthly.

As a reporter, my responsibilities
included covering news stories, as well as generating feature stories for
weekly editions.

As a Public Affairs Specialist, my responsibilities included

completion of establishing the first Media Support Center at Kandahar Air
Field.
