Senior Design Reviewer
Hours: Full-time 35 Hours Work Location: 30-30 Thomson Avenue, LIC, NY 11101 The Department of Design and Construction, Division of Public Buildings, Architecture and Engineering Unit seeks to hire a Senior Design Reviewer. Reporting to and under the supervision of the Executive Director and Deputy Directors of Architecture, the selected candidate shall participate in project scope development, existing conditions and forensic analysis, the review of design and construction documents prepared by consultants, as well as creation of design documents and construction administration for in-house design projects. The selected candidate must be thoroughly knowledgeable in Architecture principles and practices including, city and state guidelines and requirements, as well as general design principles, industry best practices, building codes, project delivery methodologies, and the latest technologies and innovations in the field. The selected candidate will interface with clients, consultants, contractors, project managers, and other technical staff.Please note: All candidates must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States (U.S.). In compliance with Public Law 99-603, candidates are required to present original documents proving citizenship or the legal right to work in the U.S. DDC is unable to support or sponsor any visa application or visa extension, including but not limited to OPT/STEM visas, H-1B visas, F-1 practical training, permanent residence sponsorship, or any proposed change of visa type. Requirements
1. A baccalaureate degree in architecture from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of full-time experience in planning, design, research, investigations and/or studies related to urban design development programs; or 2. A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience which is equivalent to ""1"" above. However, a baccalaureate degree in architecture is required of all candidates. Graduate work leading to an advanced degree in architecture, urban design or city planning maybe substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis. Experienced (non-manager)
